Position:  Carer 

Responsible to: Manager

Purpose of Position 

Eduside Limited offers a programme of personal care and household care management to enable the elderly and those suffering with illness or disability to remain in their own homes, as independent as possible. All services are personalised for each client in the form of a Care Plan to ensure the highest possible service and respect for each client’s individual needs and requirements. Carers are the frontline employees in achieving this aim and perform a broad range of duties. In doing so they will observe and respect the client’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as is practical. 

Duties

  • Duties will include, assisting clients with: 
  • Getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, and washing
  • Bathing and the toilet where necessary 
  • Assisting with mobility problems and other physical disabilities
  • Assisting with incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment  
  • The promotion of mental and physical activity through talking, taking them out; and encouraging and engaging in activities, hobbies and recreation
  • Changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning and emptying commodes
  • Laundering clothing
  • Setting tables and trays, preparing light meals, serving meals, and feeding clients who require assistance
  • Tidying and clearing away
  • Reporting duties will include:
  • Reading and writing in client record sheets
  • Documenting each visit in the daily log, detailing tasks undertaken, any changes which have occurred and other relevant information.
  • Clearly showing accurate times of arrival and departure, with accompanying date and signature
  • Maintaining accurate, concise, up-to-date and timely records of the clients care via communication sheets, medication forms, financial transaction sheets and timesheets
